The Basics
In online craps you can generally choose between playing at a private table or a public table.
The player must handle the dice with one hand only when throwing and the dice must hit the walls on the opposite end of the table. In the event that one or both dice are thrown off the table, they must be inspected (usually by the stickman) before putting them back into play.
To start off the player must thrown the dice with the aim of hitting the back wall on the far side of the craps table. A craps table is one of the largest in the casino and can hold up to 20 players. As a player you dont always have to throw the dice should you not want to you can also place your wager on another player who throws the dice. You have multiple types of bets that can be made.
After the first roll of the dice has been made, this is the start of the betting round and is called the "come out roll". The come out roll signals the start of a new game. A come out roll can only happen if the previous player has been unable to make a winning roll.
Every new game starts with a new player. Should the new player make his point, he will have the dice handed back to him and he will then start a new "come out roll". Although the come out roll signals that a new game is about to start this will be a continuation of that players roll.
If the player is unable to make there point, the dice will be passed onto another player and this will be for the player to throw out a new come out roll. The new player will always be the player that is directly left of the last person to throw the dice. Similar to poker the game will move around the table in a clockwise motion.
The craps is table is split into three separate areas. One center area and an additional two side areas. The two side areas are a mirror image of each other as they both contain the same labelled betting areas. These are as follows: Pass and Don't Pass line bets, Come and Don't Come bets, Odds bet, Place bets and Field bets.Within the center area, this is marked out for all of the proposition bets.
Pass bets win when the come out roll is 7 or 11, while pass bets lose when the come out roll is 2, 3, or 12. Don't bets lose when the come out roll is 7 or 11, and don't bets win when the come out roll is 2 or 3. Should the players at the at craps table bet on "Pass" they will win if the come out roll is either a 7 or 11, these starting pass bets will lose if the roll is 2,3 or 12. Opposite to the pass bet, if you choose to bet on the "dont" you will lose if the dice roll is either a 7 or 11, but you will win if the roll is 2 or 3. Should the roll be a 12 the "dont" bets will be counted as a tie.
Here are a list of the different betting options that you have in craps
Pass Line Bet - Should the first roll be a 7 or 11 (this is called a natural) you will win the bet, but should the roll be counted as craps (2,3,12) you will lose your bet. Should you roll a point (4,5,6,8,9,10) you will need to repeat this roll before a 7 for you to win. When a seven has been rolled and it has happened before the point you will lose your bet.
Odds on Pass Line Bet - This is a bet that can be made by using odds after a point has been rolled. You will find that there are range of odds on each point. If you roll a five or a nine you will get odds of 3/2.The point of either a four or a ten will have a payout of 2/1, and lastly an eight will pay you odds of 6/5. Players at the table can only win if the point has been before the seven.
Come Bet - If you are now comfortable with the rules of the pass line bet the good news is that it is based on the same rules. So how is this bet different? The main difference is that once on the pass line the point has been established, then this bet can be made. The come point will be made after a player has placed a bet on the roll of the first dice. So like the pass line bet, Should the first roll be a 7 or 11 (this is called a natural) you will win the bet, but should the roll be counted as craps (2,3,12) you will lose your bet. The other different rolls of the dice will have a winning outcome if you have been able to repeat the come point before the seven. Again if a seven has been rolled on the table first you will lose your craps bet.
Odds on Come Bet - This betting strategy is the same as the odds that you will find on the the "pass line bet". The difference is that here you taking the odds on the "come bet" and not the "pass line" bet.
Don't Pass Line Bet - with this bet, it is the complete opposite of the "pass line" bet. So should the player roll either a two or a three they will win. But should the first roll either be a seven or an eleven the player will lose. To enter into a tie situation the player will need to roll a twelve. Again as with other craps bets should the roll be a point, the seven will need to be rolled before that point for the player to win the net. But after the dice have been rolled and it is a point before the seven, the player will lose the bet.
Don't Come Bet - This is a reverse situation of the "come bet". So once on the table the come point has been set, the player will win only if the dice roll is a two or a three but they will lose if a seven or a 12. Similar to the "dont pass" bet, should a twelve be rolled it will be a push situation.
Place Bets -This bet works only after the point has been determined. You can bet on a dice roll of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10. You win if the number you placed your bet on is rolled before a 7. Otherwise you lose.Once after the point has been established can this be work for the player. The player can choose to be on the roll being 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10. Once your chosen number has been hit before a seven, then you will win. The odds you will get for this type of bet will be dependent on the numbers you have selected.. 4 or 10 will pay 9:5; 5 or 9 pays 7:5, and 6 or 8 pays 7:6. If you do not want to continue with this bet you can pull out at any time.
Field Bets -this type of wager is only for the roll of one dice. To win you will need to roll any of the following 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12. Should the dice roll be 5, 6, 7 and 8 the player will lose. Again dependent on the numbers you have selected there are different odds: 2 pays double (2:1) while 12 pays 3:1. Other winning dice rolls pays even (1:1)
Big Six, Big Eight Bets - this bet can be used for any roll of the dice. A player will win if either a six or an eight is rolled before the seven. The odds for this type of bet are even money. So if you bet £10 you will win £10.
Proposition Bets - this type of bet can be used at any given point, with the exception of "hardways".This type of bet is based on one roll.
Any Craps: for a player to win a two, three or twelve will need to be rolled. Odds 8:1
Any Seven: as the name suggests you will win if a seven is rolled. Odds 5:1
Eleven: once an eleven has been rolled, the player wins. Odds 16:1
Ace Duece: roll the number three and you have won. Odds 16:1
Aces or Boxcars: When a two or a twelve has been rolled you will win. Odds 30:1
Horn Bet -This acts as a combination bet on four numbers. If either 2,3,11,12 at the same time. Should any of these numbers come up you will win. Dependent on the number that has been rolled will determine the odds, your other three bets will be automatically lost
Hardways -This based on the the matching of pairs(4-4, 6-6 etc..) this is described as thrown hard before the dice has been easy and a seven has been rolled. Odds: Hard 4 and 10, 8:1; Hard 6 and 8, 10:1 |
